Tomorrow, May 3, is Free Comic Book Day around the nation! It is your chance to go out and get a free comic book that could change your life or possibly introduce you to more series you may not have otherwise noticed. This year there are 50+ titles available in stores including some from large publishers like Marvel, DC, and IDW, as well as smaller ones like Bongo Comics, Zenescope, and more.
Free Comic Book Day is a single day – the first Saturday in May each year – when participating comic book shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely FREEÂ to anyone who comes into their stores. Some rules and regulations apply per each store.
The characters featured this year in the Free Comics range from super popular properties, such as The Simpsons, The Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers (originals, including White Ranger), Rocket Raccoon, MegaMan, the Smurfs, and Teen Titans. Other titles include stories that don’t have that broad appeal yet, but you can pick up are: Hip Hop Family Duel, Duel Identity, Epic, Entropy, Project Black Sky, and so much more! Each title is available at FreeComicBookDay.com and some even have previews.
All of these titles are free and available at your local comic book store. If you’re unsure of where the closest shop is, use our handy Find A Comic Shop widget on the right or head back over to FreeComicBookDay.com to use theirs. Also, while you’re there, be sure to check out all the great comics, collectibles, and more that each store offers. My local shop has become my go-to location for Marvel tabletop and dice games as well. You never know what treasures you’ll find.
Even Stan Lee (who ComicUI met this weekend) supports FCBD!
