ComicUI and Pickled Comics come togetherĀ for another topical team-up covering the craze known as STAR WARS! Over the past few months, we’ve been watching, studying, and researching the Star Wars films from start to finish, including the prequel trilogy.

We admit it wasn’t easy to go back and watch Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith, but from all the ashes of Mustafar, these random, fun, hilarious, and sometimes questionable facts arose.

  • During first trailer, 75% of people purchased full price movie tickets to see Star Wars trailer, then left the theater.
  • Sets were only built as high as the actorā€™s heads, the rest was CGI
    • Liam Neeson was so tall it cost an extra $150k in production
  • There is only one shot in the film to which no visual effects were added at all: the shot of the dioxis gas pouring out of the vent in the meeting room.
  • ~300 lightsaber models were used in production
  • Qui-Gon Jinn’s communicator is a redecorated Sensor Excel Razor for Women.
  • Denzel Washington, Tom Hanks, Morgan Freeman and Kurt Russell were considered for the part of Qui-Gon Jinn.
  • Huttese language was created by Ben Burtt used words and phonetic spellings of the Incan language of Catua.
