Hot on the heels that Marvel has cast Michael Douglas to play Hank Pym in ANT-MAN, Hollywood Reporter announced that Thomas Kretschmann (Dracula) has been cast as villain Baron Wolfgang von Strucker in Avengers: Age of Ultron. We reported on this last month, confirming that the Avengers sequel will have 2 villains. The word on this casting announcement is that Kretschmann has signed on for multiple films, meaning Von Strucker may be appearing in more than just one film.

In the comics, Von Strucker is host to the Death Spore Virus, which of course gives him super powers and healing and other nuances that make him a villain that can’t be defeated easily. Rumor is that he’ll be the original handler for the Maximoff siblings, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch.

Do you think the Avenger’s time is worthy of this second rate villain?
