Gamescom is going on this week out in Germany and if you don’t know what that is, imagine E3 but much larger. 250,000 attendees and tons of news. So big, even Sony announced the Playstation 4 release date (November 15, btw) and gave us a PS Vita price drop! That aside, we’re getting some great LEGO Marvel Super Heroes news as well, along with a pretty sweet trailer that feels reminiscent of the Avengers movie. Sadly, we were not treated to a release date of the game, only that it will be available Fall 2013.

Characters that I have not seen before, but have now been confirmed are Iceman, Daredevil, Ghost Rider, Professor X, Captain Britain, General Thunderbolt Ross, Doctor Octopus, Mister Fantastic, J Jonah Jameson, Red Hulk, and the Skrulls. Included in the footage is the Silver Surfer and stay till the end to get a shot of Galactus! From this footage, I see the character models look super shiny, but the humor is there and the Marvel characters retain every bit of personality that they have in the comics.

As a side note, it has been confirmed that LEGO Marvel Super Heroes will be a launch day game for the XBOX One (my preferred system), but I don’t see why it shouldn’t make it to PS4 too.

Watch the new trailer and let us know if you’re going to be buying this game on release day.

  1. […] LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is out this month and a week later Thor: The Dark World will be hitting IMAX 3D cinemas across the nation. In keeping up with tradition (Iron Man 3 had a LEGO poster), LEGO has given its aesthetic to the last Thor: The Dark World poster and it still looks pretty sweet. You can see Two-Face Malekith the Accursed (Fun Fact: The original poster has him pre-face damage, but LEGO has the battle scarred Malekith on theirs. Design choice?), Loki, Odin, and the Warriors Three all in their LEGO forms. Don’t expect them all to make appearances in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, but then again an entire level is in Asgard fighting the Destroyer Armor. Take a peek at the poster below and even further down for the original. […]
