First up, we have Gears of War available as of today. The original Gears of War was the reason many people purchased an Xbox 360 to begin with. The Unreal game engine made the COG soldiers look beefy and thick, while presenting the Locusts as terrible disgusting creatures that could pop out of the ground at any minute. I distinctly remember beating this game 6 times the week it was released and we kept playing it for months as a dorm sport. It brought many people together and gave us a great glimpse at the future of the 360. Note: Also has 2 free map packs for download.
Second up this month we have an oddly titled game called Shoot Many Robots. I’ve not had any hands on experience with this, but seeing it normally costs $10 and I’m getting it gratis? I’ll download it anyways. Read on for Xbox.com’s synopsis of the title.

Shoot Many Robots – Dec 16 – 31
Shoot Many Robots is a 4-player co-op run-n’-gun action game starring robot slayer and gun aficionado, P. Walter Tugnut. From a gun that shoots garden gnome missiles to a tutu that boosts speed and damage, there are hundreds of crazy guns and gear to unlock that boost Walter’s stats – not to mention, make him look pretty. You and three friends can team up to exterminate a zillion robots while progressing through tons of missions, facing uncomfortably epic bosses, and leveling up along the way.
