Marvel has released a statement adding 5 more dates to their Cinematic Universe lineup. This is on top of several more that have been claimed, but lack movie confirmations.
Marvel and parent company Disney, have already locked in The Avengers: Age of Ultron on May 1, 2015, Ant-Man on July 17, 2015, Captain America 3 on May 6, 2016, and unannounced films for July 8, 2016 and May 5, 2017. Thats a hefty amount of film dates locked in without confirmed titles. We’re feeling one is Doctor Strange and another could be a Thor or Guardians of the Galaxy sequel.
However, not to be content with only having 2 unannounced dates, Marvel Studios has added FIVE more dates to that, giving us a plan through 2019. These include July 28 and November 3, 2017; July 6 and November 2, 2018; and May 3, 2019.
This gives us a first for Marvel, as they’ll be releasing 3 movies in 2017. Their average release schedules is 2 films a year, sometimes just a single release (such as Iron Man 2 and Avengers). What movies we’ll see throughout the next 5 years is definitely beyond us, but feel free to speculate in the comments. With SDCC this week, perhaps we’ll get more confirmations and information to share.
