DEADPOOL Movie Gets Release Date

0

It is finally happening folks. Grab your chimichangas and sit down. Reports have it that Fox has given the long awaited, much anticipated DEADPOOL movie a release date. February 12, 2016 is the rumored day the merc with a mouth becomes the merc with a movie.

Let that sink in. Deadpool is coming to a theater near you.Tim Miller will be directing and the popular choice of Ryan Reynolds to reprise the role as the titular character has been all but confirmed.

If this turns out to be true, we can thank one thing for this (no, not X-Men Origins: Wolverine), but the leaked/released test footage for the movie, which we so graciously shared in July. The internet feedback, including social media, has given the character some weight and relevance in a world full of comic book movies.

We presume the film will be R rated and with that near Valentine’s day release, it’ll be for those people who don’t want flowers and romance and chocolates. If anything can cure the blues, its 2 hours of Wade Wilson.

What do you guys think, is the world ready for a DEADPOOL movie?

Official Plot Synopsis for AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Released

0

Marvel and Disney have released the first official plot synopsis for 2015’s AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. Other than giving some new details on how Ultron is created and why he is related to Tony Stark, (possibly a throwback to Hank Pym as well, haters), it seems pretty standard fare.

The full press release also gives us Paul Bettany as The Vision and the twin’s names, Wanda/Pietro Maximoff. If you’re ready for Joss Whedon to assemble the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes once more, you can check out AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON on May 1, 2015!

Marvel Studios presents Avengers: Age of Ultron, the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.
Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., who returns as Iron Man, along with Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. Together with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and with the additional support of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, the team must reassemble to defeat James Spader as Ultron, a terrifying technological villain hell-bent on human extinction. Along the way, they confront two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and Pietro Maximoff, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and meet an old friend in a new form when Paul Bettany becomes Vision.
Written and directed by Joss Whedon and produced by Kevin Feige, Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series The Avengers, first published in 1963. Get set for an action-packed thrill ride when The Avengers return in Marvel’s Avengers:Age of Ultron on May 1, 2015.

Rate CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER

0

Now that CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER is available for home purchase, we want your second opinions on the movie!

You can read our review from the film’s debut and know that we pretty much love this movie. But it was also the first big movie of the year. Did that skew our perception? After watching it several more times, I can easily say it did not. The film still holds up nearly 6 months after release and is a welcome addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (and my Marvel movie collection).

Give us your feelings on the film below and leave your review in the comments below!

Zack Snyder Shows Off Official BATMOBILE

0

After those camera phone images of the dirty batmobile yesterday, Zack Snyder took to twitter to give us a good look at the final thing.

The first thing I notice about this Christopher Nolan-mobile 2.0 is that it has a machine gun on the front. Doesn’t Batman not kill? Does it only shoot rubber bullets? I’m confused, yet intrigued. A batman that kills could definitely be something Superman needs to fight. Who is the bigger bully then?

Secondly, again, this is a tumbler 2.0 car but it looks menacing. Hopefully it’ll appear in more than one or two scenes in the movie, because this is worth the price of admission alone. I’d watch a movie called Batman: The Batmobile for 3 hours. Probably not, but its an idea.

Here is the OFFICIAL look at the new Batmobile from Zack Snyder and DC’s upcoming BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE releasing March 2016.

STAR WARS Episode VII Images show Millennium Falcon and X-Wing

0

STAR WARS EPISODE VII has resumed filming and some new aerial shots (that seems to be the thing these days) show off a half constructed Millennium Falcon and an X-Wing fighter outside the set of the movie. It is awfully refreshing that Star Wars and Disney and JJ Abrams have all decided to take this film back to its roots and do actual props.

As you can tell, that Millennium Falcon is going to be pretty much life size. That is quite a feat for the spaceship that made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs. You heard me. With this ship being built in real life, it’ll be fun to see the detail and how they’ll use it in the final film.

Along side this, you can see an X-Wing hanging out in a….wait for it….hangar. Its covered in tarps or some covering that doesn’t give us a full view, but something close enough. The X-Wings are just as iconic as the Falcon and should be a part of the film.

I can’t wait for Star Wars to return to form and film December 2015 and this only makes me that much more giddy. Here’s to hoping the wait isn’t for a long, long time, nor the end result is something from a galaxy far, far away.

Peggy Carter and the Howling Commandos in AGENTS OF SHIELD

0

Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) and some of the Howling Commandos from Captain America: The First Avenger are showing up in Marvel’s AGENTS OF SHIELD Season 2 premiere. Say what!? How can they do that, since there is at least 70 years difference?

From a new photo published by TV Guide, it appears that they will be showing up through a Flashback to the 1940’s range, which includes Jim Morita and Dum Dum Dugan returning from their First Avengers apperance. They’ll be played by Kenneth Choi and Neal McDonough respectively. We’ve not seen Dugan since the Agent Carter one-shot where he discovered bikinis with a young Howard Stark.

We don’t have a lot to go on, except that Hayley Atwell will be leading her own series, AGENT CARTER during the mid season break in AGENTS OF SHIELD. Do you think going back to the past will help shape the future of SHIELD post-Winter Soldier?

On-set photos of the BATMOBILE

0

We’ve seen the Batmobile revealed a few months ago with Batman (Ben Affleck) in outfit beside it. It didn’t give us a full view of the iconic car, but it was enough to whet the appetite. Now as filming proceeds on BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, we’re starting to see the vehicle in its entirety, even if its covered in dirt.

As one person stated, Robin or Nightwing should write ‘wash me’ on the back so this thing gets cleaned up! However, I’m inclined to believe this is a battle dusted version of the car. It really takes a lot of style form the tumbler version in Christopher Nolan’s trilogy, but those doors on it are pretty sick looking. They should really show it to us in action sooner than later.

Enjoy the images snapped from the set and we’ll keep you posted on any news, rumors, or photos we find of DC’s biggest move yet.

Now Available: WINTER SOLDIER and AGENTS OF SHIELD

0

Finally, after several long months of waiting, Marvel has released CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER and AGENTS OF SHIELD for purchase. You can buy Winter Soldier in 3D, blu-ray, DVD, and/or Digital HD, whichever tickles your fancy, and Agents of SHIELD on blu-ray or DVD.

There are TONS of version of Captain America out there, including at least 7 different ones at Wal-mart, but from my personal experience, Target has the best offers. Yesterday, I was able to get the 3D/BD/Digital HD version of the movie for $20 and picked up the Blu-ray version of SHIELD for only $40. Normally, the movie will cost around $25-30 the first week and TV shows are towards $60 or more in blu. If you’re looking to add these to your collection, this week is the week to do so.

If you didn’t read our review praising Marvel on their first release of 2014 and have not seen the movie, we encourage you to do so right now. It effectively changed the Marvel Cinematic Universe in ways that were reverberated throughout SHIELD and will be felt in the coming years as other Marvel movies premiere. Don’t be afraid to watch the film and check it against our 13 Secrets of the Winter Soldier article as well. Did we miss any? You tell us!

As for Agents of SHIELD, it gets a slow start, but around episode 10 it kicks into overdrive and doesn’t slow down till the end of the season. Also, it should be noted that Season 2 of AoS starts in 2 weeks, as well as getting a sister series during the winter break in Marvel’s AGENT CARTER.

Will you be buying Marvel’s big movies this week or are you too busy playing Bungie’s Destiny to care?

Digital Upgrade DESTINY from Last Gen to Current for FREE

0

We don’t cover a lot of video game things here unless they’re worth our attention and most importantly, FREE.

With Bungie (Halo) releasing DESTINY tomorrow, everyone is excited. How excited? Pretty damn excited that I’ll be buying an Xbox One for the occasion. However, I know thats not in the cards for everyone. Some people, such as myself, adore my Xbox 360 or PS3 and simply don’t have the desire to upgrade to a new system. Its just not THAT crucial yet.

I’m here to tell you, that if you purchase Destiny for Xbox 360 or PS3 digitally (note: ONLY digital), you can upgrade to the Xbox One or PS4 version for FREE. Thats right, you buy the digital copy for the last generation consoles and you can upgrade to the next generation machines on the house.

This promotion only lasts until January 15, so enough time for you to get one on Black Friday or Christmas or both. Don’t fret, you won’t lose any progress as your Guardians, stats, and gear will all transfer over too.

For more information, head over to DestinytheGame.com and look up the deal! If you’re into digital games vs disk based media, this is a kickass deal. Don’t miss out!

Destiny is an online MMO shooter from Bungie and releases for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, and PS4 tomorrow, September 9.

PS: If you want to game, add me on Xbox Live as ‘valdan’ (no quotes).

Detailed look at Marvel’s THE VISION

0

Not long after the promotional artwork from Marvel’s upcoming AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON was spotted in the wild sporting The Vision, concept art of the character has now hit the interwebs.

This look at Paul Bettany’s character seems to be legit work and not fan made, due to how well it matches up with what we’ve seen in the SDCC Posters and that previous artwork. Now does it match the ‘leaked image’ from a few months ago, not so much, but that could’ve been a doctor image anyways.

What we’re seeing here is most likely what we’ll see in our first teaser which I assume will land around Christmas (Hobbit IMAX screenings?) or even more so during the Superbowl 2015.

Enjoy the Vision and have a great Monday! (Don’t forget to buy Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Season 1 of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD tomorrow!)
