RUMOR: Spider-Man joins AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR – Part 1

0

Theres been strong rumors that Sony and Marvel have been talking about Spider-Man. After the AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 killed it, in the bad way, some leaked emails from the Sony hack show that the two companies are working at putting our friendly neighborhood web swinger into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As of today, sources at Latino Review (a source we trust) have given us an update that Spider-Man is more than likely joining the team for AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR – part 1 in 2018. Yes, this is a strong rumor, as nothing is confirmed from Marvel or Sony, but again, we trust this source as they’ve helped us confirm tons of facts in the past.

Since this deal is done, it also puts to bed the idea that Andrew Garfield and/or Tobey Maguire will return as the web head. They’ll more than likely cast someone new for the Marvel Studios version, putting the other Spider-Man films (and their supposed spin-offs) to bed. This is huge for everyone!

On top of this character specific news, Dave Gonzales of LR gives us lots of spoilers regarding the story of INFINITY WAR…so if you don’t want to read those, don’t scroll on. You have been warned!

Seriously, this could ruin your years.

“It seems Steve Rogers is gonna kick the bucket at the end of Captain America: Civil War. Word is it’s the revelation that Bucky was responsible for Howard Stark’s death that triggers the bad blood between Rogers and Tony, and the end result is Crossbones taking out the Star Spangled Avenger. Info on what happens to Iron Man is vague, but it sounds as if he’ll wind up in space somehow. In Thor: Ragnarok, lots of Asgardians will die and be resurrected, and the God of Thunder will be confined to a “galactic prison”. This takes 3 of the main Avengers out of the picture for Infinity War Part 1, which will focus on a completely new team, along with Spidey of course! The roster is not yet finalized apparently, but some potentials include: Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Black Panther, Dr. Strange, Ant-Man, Wasp, Captain Marvel, Luke Cage, Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jewel/Power Woman, any Guardian of the Galaxy, and any Inhuman.

All classic Avengers will be absent from this lineup because the plan is to bring them back for Infinity War Part 2… yes, even the deceased Stevie Rogers.” You can read more about the details on how each character can fit into this team on Latino Review, but now you can start preparing yourself for Spider-Man to come home to Marvel Studios.

KINGSMEN: THE SECRET SERVICE Clip and Trailer

0

I have done a horrible job covering this film, but KINGSMEN: THE SECRET SERVICE is coming out February 13 and it is one of my top 5 movies of this year. Will it deliver? I can’t say at all but when I saw the first trailer in theaters, it got my hyped.

KINGSMEN is a comic book film, which you can find the re-release this week from Marvel, which is based on The Secret Service by Mark Millar. It stars Colin Firth, Michael Caine, Mark Strong, Mark Hamill, and Samuel L. Jackson. Alrighty then, if that isn’t enough to build some sort of desire, you can know its directed by Matthew Vaughn, of X-Men: First Class and Kick-Ass.

Now that we know it has solid cast and crew behind it, I’ll add that it is Rated R and we should expect a good time. My feel for this movie is that Kingsmen is like Wanted, but mixed with James Bond and totally brutal about it.

First up, I’ll give you the clip that hooked me, followed by the trailer. You can expect a review of this next month as I’ll be all on board to see this movie. Its hard to make Colin Firth look like a bad ass, so job well done!

HQ Screenshots from AGE OF ULTRON Trailer

0

We’re in the home stretch. Less than 4 months till AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON comes across screens everywhere. I can still remember 3 years ago when the first one released and it was glorious.

Now, we’ve received a second trailer full of new secrets and we’ve found a collection of HQ screenshots from the film that you can digest at your own leisure.

These have been sharpened and expanded to show more detail, but that has definitely paid off. We hope you find these just as titillating as we do!

5 Secrets in the AGE OF ULTRON Trailer

0

Yes, we’re making a list! And checking it twice. We’ve seen the new AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON trailer more times than we’d like to admit int he past 12 hours and want to give you ALL the details that you may have missed last night.

First things first, if you haven’t seen the new trailer for the upcoming Avengers sequel, head over to that page and watch it first. Once you’ve seen the trailer, watch it again in full screen. Then finally you can come back over here and read 5 secrets we saw in the trailer!

Are you ready? Did you watch the trailer? Twice? Good! Let us begin…

1. Wakandan people

I am 90% sure that is a Wakandan citizen in a vibranium mine. Why? Because thats where Black Panther comes from and with him appearing next year, his country needs to show up. Also, Ulysses Klaw (probably that Andy Serkis fellow) is known for working with Vibranium and giving Ultron his final, near indestructible form. (Also, she is totally topless)

2. The Hulk is under mind control

Did you see how badly Bruce Banner’s alter ego and Tony Stark are throwing down? Thats gonna be wicked, but at the end, you can see that in his eyes, the Hulk isn’t truly there. He’s gone feral or savage or whatever Hulks become. I blame the Scarlet Witch…

3. Black Widow baby

A young version of the Black Widow appears briefly, and she seems terrified. Is this part of a flashback scene? I think so and we’ll learn more about each character’s pasts.

4. You can electrify the God of Thunder

Apparently the man who calls upon lightning to smite his foes, also is susceptible to its effects. Or some lady in background is using Asgardian magic on him… (judging by her nudity though, my guess is that he’s in Wakanda, where technology is pretty advanced)

5. Ultron is a Sith Lord

Did you SEE that red force lightning come out of his fingers?! This is the Marvel/Star Wars/Disney crossover we all need. Ok, not really, but that was pretty sweet.

6. This movie is all about Daredevil

Because we don’t have any Vision yet…(really, where is our Vision!?!)

New AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Trailer Debuts

0

This isn’t the first AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON trailer we’ve seen, nor will it be the last. While tons of new footage was shown, the hype for the movie grows. Whats really surprising is they’re marketing it during the NCAA Football Championship game on ESPN, instead of other networks Disney owns, like ABC.

I doubt this is the last time we’ll see a trailer for Marvel’s most anticipated film (of 2015) during a football game either. Superbowl anyone? Yes, I think we will see one there.

Anyways, here’s the new trailer! Enjoy 🙂

BATMAN v SUPERMAN Split Into 2 Movies?

0

Well this is a fun bit of news. An image on IMGUR (because thats where images come from, duh), has surfaced showing that Warner Bros. and DC’s next movie could be split into two parts. BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE as we currently understand, is schedule for a March 2016 release. They’ve been filming this movie almost all of 2014 and will be spending a LONG time in post production.

We’re going to treat this as a rumor for now, but if true, we’ll have BATMAN V SUPERMAN: ENTER THE KNIGHT on October 23, 2015 and then again, DAWN OF JUSTICE on March 25, 2016. Why wouldn’t DC have listed this during their cinematic universe announcement a few months back? Would they be so bold as to split a huge movie into two and move the first part 5 months earlier? Its not that far of a stretch to imagine the splitting of the film, as we know its going to introduce a lot of characters: Cyborg, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, and so forth.

It also isn’t so hard to imagine them not promoting it yet, because compared to FANTASTIC FOUR (which release August of this year), we’ve actually seen MORE of the film. We’ve seen ZERO of FF and its out in 6 months or so. Is it that hard to believe?

As of now, this is PURELY rumor and we won’t acknowledge it as fact until WB or DC decide to tell us differently. But if it does come true, well…bold move, Warner Bros. Bold move indeed.

Edward James Olmos Joins AGENTS OF SHIELD

0

Marvel has announced Edward James Olmos will be appearing on AGENTS OF SHIELD in the second half of season 2. For Marvel, this is a huge week of reveals and announcements and having another Battlestar Galactica alum join the show is big news.

Olmos will be playing Robert Gonzales, a character who will have massive repercussions for Agent Director Coulson and his team.

“Edward James Olmos brings an amazing gravitas to any role he inhabits, something we knew we needed for Robert Gonzales,” said “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” executive producer Jeph Loeb in the announcement. “When Olmos first appears on our series, everyone will have to take notice — including our favorite Agents.”

Will he be another inhuman or perhaps just another military general who is chasing the wanted SHIELD agents? We’ll have to see when the show returns from its winter hiatus!

ComicUI – Best and Worst Movies of 2014

0

Welcome to the final week of 2014! And to finish it off, we’re going to give you the last of our lists. Today, we’re going to play both sides of the coin with our best and worst movies of the year. We hope that you partake in watching these movies, even if we think they’re horrible. Not that we promote bad films, but that you can educate yourselves instead of just taking our word.

Let us know your choices too!

Best Movie

Brian – The LEGO Movie

Grand Budapest Hotel

This was a movie that was impossible to take serious before this year. Just try to think about that. That’s a huge success for a movie about Legos. What more can be said about it then, “Everything is Awesome”.

(Bonus points for including Chris Pratt, Batman, and Will Arnett) – Chris

Chris – Grand Budapest Hotel

“Wes Anderson at his peak, provides a film that is not only entertaining, but thought provoking at moments. It asks us what family means and delivers on all fronts, especially the emotional notes. A must see for any Anderson fan, and I recommend anyone interested in cinema see this as well.”

Worst Movie

Brian – Amazing Spider-Man 2

I actually didn’t hate this movie when I walked out of the theater. I love Spider-man as a character and have loved seeing him on the big screen. However, Sony is using this movie as the root of several different Spider-man series and spin-offs and overall it’s just a very weak movie. I really think we all wanted more from a movie that Sony is trying to play as so pivotal. You can read our review for more details.

Amazing Spider-Man 2

Chris – Transformers: Age of Extinction

“I took it upon myself as ritual to see the fourth installment in what I’m now calling, the robotic Transformers franchise. That should not be mistaken for an intentional pun, as the newest entry in the series seems full of predictable processes and unimaginative story. Age of Extinction does not strive to be more than its predecessors, but rather just more of them and that ultimately falls flat across the board.” You can read our review too!

ANT-MAN Promotional Art Reveals Hero and Villain

0

We’ve recently learned that 2015 could possibly herald in our first look at an ANT-MAN trailer from Marvel and Disney, but before that could even roll out, a new promotional piece has been revealed. This new artwork shows Ant-Man in his outfit facing off against Yellowjackets, the film’s antagonist.

The Ant-Man suit has the ability to shrink in size while maintaining the strength of a normal person (or making it more) while also communicating with Ants. However, the Yellowjacket suit is a bit more of a mystery, only that its a militarized version of the Ant-Man technology and very sleek looking. This is the same one we revealed on Facebook back in November. That suit also appears to have extra arms that are doing…octopus like things? I’m not sure, but I bet the movie will make it look alright.

This promotional work for the film also delivers a new logo it seems, as I don’t recall the letters curving like that, but it could be the lighter blue background. Either way, if this is the last bit of news we get out of 2014, it was a good one.

ComicUI’s Worst Artwork of 2014

0

Now that we’ve told you the best artwork we saw in 2014, now we’re going to the opposite end of the spectrum with the absolute worst artwork of 2014. This comes to us with such tragedy and distraughtness that we can’t even believe we’re saying it.

Poor, poor ultimate universe. You had such hope and potential and greatness, then every few years, a few people come through and destroy it. Ultimate FF had some of the best stories this year, but it was ultimately destroyed by itself and the shoddy artist.

One of the few examples is below.

Chris – Ultimate FF

“Dear lord. Someone scribbled on the pages of what could have been the best Ultimate book post-Cataclysm. Joshua Fialkov is a great writer, but the artwork was atrocious on this entire series. We’re sorry it ended, but can’t say we’re surprised after that. Andre Araujo is who you can blame.”

Brian – I Concur.

“I’m not sure why Marvel assigned this artist to a new series like this, but it’s horrible. I feel like I could make better layouts with my right hand, and I’m left handed.”
