Marvel’s THE DEFENDERS Trailer

0

The first official trailer for Marvel’s THE DEFENDERS has landed and it packs some punches. Featuring Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, the individual Netflix shows finally culminate in this team-up of epic proportions. Considered the street-level Avengers, they’ll be going up against the Hand, a resurrected Elektra, and more to save New York City.

Marvel’s The Defenders follows Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones). A quartet of singular heroes with one common goal – to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together. The Netflix original series will launch globally on August 18, 2017.

STAR WARS Viewing Order – Updated for 2017

0

We all love watching Star Wars, right? But after 40 years, we’re now up to 8 full Star Wars films and more people are being born every day who haven’t seen this cultural phenomenon! To help celebrate May the 4th (be with you), ComicUI is delivering our favorite viewing order for all current Star Wars films.

This is by no means the only way to watch them, but we think its the smartest one with all the films we now have. If your Wookie friend has a different order to watch these movies, then by all means…let the Wookie win. Lets get into it!

A New Hope (Episode 4)

Episode 4 is where the movies truly started. We meet a lot of the main characters and sets us up for this sprawling adventure through time and space. Any one would be remiss to not start with A New Hope and get drawn into the mystery and ways of the force.

The Empire Strikes Back (Episode 5)

By far my favorite movie of all the Star Wars options, The Empire Strikes Back is a lesson in cinema, scope, and storytelling that will be heralded for years to come. Following up from A New Hope, this only takes Star Wars to the next level.

The Phantom Menace (Episode 1)(Optional)

We consider The Phantom Menace optional, because hardly any characters from this carry over. We love the music and the introduction of the Sith proper, especially Darth Maul, but overall you can skip this film and not lose too much sleep.

Attack of the Clones (Episode 2)

But guys! Why go backwards in time to The Clone Wars after Empire? This is a great point to go back and learn about Anakin Skywalker and how he became Darth Vader, as we learned in Empire. The cliff hanger ending of that, coupled with actually learning about the Clone Wars from New Hope, make this a great time to fill in some gaps.

Revenge of the Sith (Episode 3)

Following up from The Clone Wars, this is the transformative point of how the Republic fell into the Empire, when Anakin was lost to the dark side, and how all the Jedi came to be myths of old. Revenge only faults to setup the original trilogy at the end so fast, its a bit dizzying, but thats ok! A new film has appeared to alleviate this jump.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Rogue One tells us the story of how the Rebel Alliance came together to steal the Death Star plans, ultimately leading directly into A New Hope. While most people feel this could be the first film, it does rely on basic knowledge of the characters and mythos surrounding Star Wars. It leads directly into A New Hope, but serves its purpose telling more of Darth Vader and how some Return of the Jedi characters came to be.

Return of the Jedi (Episode 6)

Return of the Jedi wraps up the first two trilogies and Rogue One very well. It tells of Anakin Skywalker’s fall and return to the Jedi, as well as giving us some more world building throughout. Many people consider this their favorite film, but we respectfully disagree. Ewoks aren’t our absolute favorite addition to the universe.

The Force Awakens (Episode 7)

Lastly, The Force Awakens picks up nearly 30 years after Return of the Jedi. Our characters have aged, grown apart, and experienced hardships over the decades leading up to this. It introduces us to new characters to kick off this brand new trilogy, as well as providing swan songs for older ones. You may feel a bit of A New Hope’s vibes throughout the film, which is to be expected.

There’s the ComicUI Star Wars viewing format! Agree to disagree with us and tell us YOUR favorite viewing order! As always, May the 4th be with you!

THOR: RAGNAROK Teaser Trailer

0

This November, return to Asgard (for a little bit) to see Thor in action against some of his greatest foes such as Loki and Hulk, but probably the strongest includes new coming Hela. As Thor fights to return to Asgard and save the day, will he find out what it means to be a hero without a hammer?

After the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor, held captive on the planet Sakaar without his hammer, must win a gladiatorial duel against an old friend — the Hulk — in order to return to Asgard in time to stop the villainous Hela and the impending Ragnarök, the doom of the Asgardian civilization.

In theaters this November 3, 2017

SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Trailer 2

0

The second trailer for Marvel’s SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING is here and it delivers on the serious side of things, including an introduction to The Vulture, how Iron Man is involved in Peter’s life, and even some easter eggs throughout. Could Homecoming be the best Spider-Man movie to-date? We’re thinking its going to be a non-stop joy ride from start to finish truer to the any version of Spider-Man we’ve ever seen.

Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, young Peter Parker (Tom Holland) returns home to live with his Aunt May. Under the watchful eye of mentor Tony Stark, Parker starts to embrace his newfound identity as Spider-Man. He also tries to return to his normal daily routine — distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just a friendly neighborhood superhero. Peter must soon put his powers to the test when the evil Vulture emerges to threaten everything that he holds dear.

JUSTICE LEAGUE Official Trailer

The first official trailer for DC and Warner Bros.’ JUSTICE LEAGUE has landed, giving us a hint at whats to come this November from the superhero team-up! Catch Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Cyborg, and the most incredible Aquaman teaming up on the big screen for the first time ever as they fight against Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons in their quest for world domination!

Standout reveals in this trailer include our first look at Mera of the Atlanteans, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, Cyborg’s transforming mask, and a literal ton of action scenes as they throw down across the world.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

ComicUI’s X-MEN Movie Marathon Order

0

Are you ready for LOGAN this weekend? With Hugh Jackman being in almost every last one of the X-Men movies, its time we give you the most crazy, comprehensive, complete way to watch them! We know that continuity is not in that list, mostly because Fox doesn’t care about it either as long as they get money, so strap-in (or strap-on, if you’re Deadpool) and lets go for it!

Most people would say “Start at the beginning!” Well, to hell with them! They’ve never tried to figure out where that is in these films. Our suggestions are purely ours and you can watch whatever you want. Keep reading for the most complete list yet!

  1. X-Men Origins: Wolverine

    • It says ORIGINS in it, right?
  2. First Class

    • Its technically the first of a new Trilogy, but it is essentially erased because of Days of Future Past
  3. X-Men

    • The first X-Men movie released
  4. X2: X-Men United

    • My personal favorite X-Men movie
  5. X-Men: The Last Stand

    • The last of the first trilogy (its not that good)
  6. The Wolverine

    • A great Wolverine film, the start of where continuity goes out the window
  7. Days of Future Past

    • Creates 2 timelines, the old (everything above), and a new one in 1983
  8. Apocalypse

    • Direct sequel to Days of Future Past’s new timeline (same premise as The Last Stand)
  9. Deadpool

    • Who knows where this fits in, but is the closest to modern era as we get!
  10. and finally….Logan?

    • This is set in a far future, so does it matter about which timeline it exists in?

This is how I would tell someone to watch them, simply because it sets rules and then ultimately resets them in Days of Future Past, so…buyer beware?

However, if you want something more scientific, here are two alternate orders to watch the X-Men Mocies!

Release Order: X-Men, X2, X-Men: The Last Stand, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, X-Men: First Class, The Wolverine, X-Men: Days of the Future Past, Deadpool, X-Men: Apocalypse, Logan.

Chronological Order: X-Men: First Class (1962), X-Men: Days of Future Past (1973 sequence), X-Men Origins: Wolverine (1981), X-Men: Apocalypse (Alternate 1983), X-Men (2000), X2 (2003), X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), The Wolverine (2013), Deadpool (2016), X-Men: Days of Future Past (2023 sequence), Logan (2029).

A few years ago, we also did an X-Men Cinematic Timeline feature, which you can still find HERE! Enjoy Logan everyone!
