Its that time again, when another month arrive and XBOX gives out more free games! This month, you’ll see 2 on the Xbox One and 2 on the Xbox 360, so make sure to grab all that you can!

Just a reminder, you HAVE to remain a Gold Subscriber on XBOX One to access the Games with Gold. If your membership expires, you will no longer have access to those games until you re-up. This does NOT apply to the Xbox 360, as it uses a different system to check and see if your games have been purchased or not.

Xbox One

Crimson Dragon

“Available Aug. 1-31, Crimson Dragon, originally an Xbox One launch title, and acts as a spiritual successor to the much-beloved Panzer Dragoon saga. It’s a fast-paced rail shooter set in a beautiful fantasy world, where you can join with up to three other players for online co-op battles. You have a half-dozen majestic draconian steeds to choose from, and they level up as you progress through the game’s epic story. Crimson Dragon also features a killer soundtrack, courtesy of Panzer Dragoon composer Saori Kobayashi.”

The game is set in a science fiction universe where humans have recently colonized a planet inhabited by dragons, which can be befriended and controlled. The game is a spiritual successor to the Panzer Dragoon series, however critical and user reviews of the game have been mixed. The game scores a 56/100 on Metacritic and 6.6 for the User score. Crimson Dragon normally sells for $19.99.

Strike Suite Zero: Director’s Cut

“Also available Aug. 1-31, Strike Suit Zero: Director’s Cut has its origins in crowdfunding platform Kickstarter and was the first title from the ID@Xbox program. You take on the role of a pilot of the titular suit, flying it against aggressors in epic space battles. One of the key hooks is that you are only a small part of these battles, with huge ships duking it out around you, and your objectives within them clearly defined – but it’s up to you to accomplish them as you see fit. With fantastic ship design, gigantic battles, and plenty of weapons and enemies to deal with, Strike Suit Zero: Director’s Cut gives space-sim fans on Xbox One plenty to chew on.”

Strike Suit Zero is from the independent game developer Born Ready Games, and was originally a Kickstarter project. Strike Suit Zero was originally released on the PC in January 2013, with Mac and Linux versions coming out in August. The game is a space flight combat game where you play a fighter pilot for the United Nations of Earth. It scored slightly higher than Crimson Dragon in both critical reviews and user scores, with a 68/100 and 6.9 User score on Metacritic. Strike Suit Zero normally sells for $19.99.

Xbox 360

Motocross Madness

“Available Aug. 1-15, back on earth Xbox 360 gamers get to tool around the dirt tracks and mud pits of their imaginations with Motocross Madness, an off-road motorcycle racing game. Racing against the clock (or other racers) is just a small part of this one, as you’ll be able to perform tricks, run through obstacle courses, or just motor around big maps and explore as you please. Asynchronous multiplayer via social networks means you can involve your friends, even if they’re off doing something else while you’re playing. Unlimited potential!”

Bongfish GmbH is the developer for the first of the Xbox 360 games, Motocross Madness. This off-road motorcycle racing game has been well received by both fans and critics alike, scoring a 73 Metascore for critics reviews, and 8.3 as a User score. Motocross Madness normally retails for $9.99 in the Xbox 360 store.

Dishonored

“Finally, available Aug. 16-31, Xbox 360 owners get to experience Dishonored, an award-winning steampunk stealth/action title. You play Corvo, erstwhile bodyguard of the Empress, turned assassin. Your job is to protect the princess, take out the bad guys who are trying to take over the Empire, and do it all undetected. You have an arsenal of gadgets, weapons, and magical powers to help you, but the most important is your own brain. Challenges in Dishonored often have multiple solutions, so lateral thinking is more important than a quick trigger finger. You can blast your way through, too, to be sure – there’s something for everyone here – but cleverness is rewarded more than aggression.”

The second game for the Xbox 360 is Dishonored by Arkane Studios. Dishonored, which normally sells for $19.99, originally came out in October 2012. This is a stealth based action-adventure game which received numerous awards including the 2012 Spike Video Game award for Best Action-Adventure Game and the 2013 BAFTA award for Best Game. It received a 91/100 Metascore on Metacritic and a 8.3 User Score.

LOOK: DEADPOOL Movie Test Footage

DEADPOOL. The long awaited, yet to be green-lit superhero movie has been at the back of everyone’s mind for years. Since the mistreatment of the character in X-MEN ORIGINS, everyone has been dying to see Fox make it right and release a true to form Deadpool movie starring Ryan Reynolds. He was born to be the Merc with a Mouth anti-hero, not that Green Lantern mess we got.

Over the weekend, we got some leaked video of some DEADPOOL test footage that could have potentially led into a movie. This was NOT a part of SDCC 14. It is all in CGI, but Mr. Reynolds himself provided the voice and motion capture for the graphics. As you can tell, the humor and wit of the character remain intact, although we’re not sure we’ll ever see the comic book character reach the big screen. R rated movies are hard to sell, and this would need to be one.

Enjoy the Deadpool clips and maybe, just maybe…we’ll see this come to life.

SDCC 14 has come and gone, but we’re still feeling the effects of the biggest Comic Con of the year. From the Batman V Superman teaser footage that leaked to Marvel’s AGE OF ULTRON teaser (audio only), we’re definitely hyped from everything everyone brought. While most people would go on to declare a “winner” of the con, we’re focusing on what else we’re finding in the aftermath.

Shortly after SDCC finished, someone got a picture of an Ultron drone prop that was floating around nearby. As you can tell, it matches up spot on with the concept art of Ultron’s drones that was debuted during SDCC, down to the hydraulic neck lifts. We’ve heard that the robotic AI that will torment the Avengers next summer is pretty terrifying, and if James Spader’s voice is any indication…we believe it.

Do you think Ultron’s robots are going to cause issues for Earth’s Mightiest or end up just being a pushover?

SDCC 14: ANT-MAN Teaser Description

We’re working on finding the audio for this clip, but nothing has officially leaked for the ANT-MAN teaser they showed off at SDCC this weekend. Filming on the movie begins August 18, so it was all CG and demo stuff anyways, but we have the description for you just the same.

ANT-MAN has been ‘plagued’ with false starts for a few months now, but I call it good news. I’m happy with the new director, the actors involved, and how Marvel is sticking to their guns. ANT-MAN premieres July of 2015.

Teaser Description

There are two components to this pretty zany footage: a scene in Hank Pym’s lab, where the camera just pans across the space, showing off all of the weird scientific equipment and bubbling beakers and creepy anthills, before finishing up at an Ant-Man helmet. During this, Michael Douglas is convincing Scott Lang to do something. Lang protests that Hank seems nice but “I’m not a superhero.” That means he’s not an egomaniac, and he’s not an “undisciplined moron causing more destruciton than he stops,” Pym retorts. Superheroes are a “ridiculous concept. You’re doing this because it’s the right thing to do.” “Someone already stole your balls,” Pym taunts Lang. “It’s just a small job, he adds.

Cut to a tiny Scott Lang in the Ant-Man suit, running away after completing the “small job” — his Ant-Man helmet is on the fritz, and he keeps losing his connection to Hank Pym, who’s barking instructions. He’s supposed to use the helmet to control “the transport” — which turns out to be a small flying ant. He tries to convince the flying ant to help him out, but the ant isn’t listening. And then some flying lights show up, chasing him — so Scott has no choice but to jump off the building onto the flying ant, which he doesn’t have a very stable grip on. He’s trying to reach a rendezvous with Hank, but first he has to survive.

Paul Rudd was cast as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, followed with the casting of Michael Douglas as Hank Pym. SDCC 14: AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Teaser Audio and Description

No, we’ve not found any leaked footage from the AGE OF ULTRON panel at SDCC this year. We’re scouring the internet at all seconds trying to track it down so we can watch.

However, we have the second best option at our disposal, a recording of the audio and a detailed description of all the footage. With this and the power of your imagination…you can definitely get a feel for the teaser that was presented.

Marvel took some props to the show floor which were then featured in the footage as well, so if you want to see those and then listen to how James Spader will sound in the film, this is your chance.

Age of Ultron Description

We see the Avengers sitting around trying to untangle the “whosoever is worthy” thing, regarding who gets to hold Thor’s hammer. And they all think it’s a trick, or a circus sideshow. “If I lift it, do I get to rule Asgard?” Tony asks. And Thor says yes. Tony says he will be fair but firm, and maybe work out the “wench clause.” Tony can’t lift it — even after he puts on an Iron Man glove and gets Rhodey to help him. Soon everybody is trying to lift it — including Bruce Banner, who gets kinda upset — and only Steve Rogers even comes close. Black Widow doesn’t even want to try lifting it, because “That’s not a question I need answering.” Tony guess it’s keyed to Thor’s finger prints, or some other biometric, but Thor says the answer is simpler: “You’re all not worthy.” Then there’s a ringing sound and they’re all deafened, and Ultron strides into the room, with a crude Avengers logo painted on his slightly misshapen chest. “How could you be worthy? You’re all killers,” Ultron says. “You want to protect the world, but you don’t want to it to change. There’s only one path to peace: your extinction.” Then a shit ton of robots burst through the wall and attack all of the Avengers, plus Maria Hill.

Then we hear Ultron’s voiceover saying he had a vision of the whole world screaming for mercy, and everybody tangled in it. And we see glimpses of some city in what looks like Africa being reduced to rubble by an attack. There’s a closeup of Loki’s staff, and everybody looking freaked out on the Quinjet — most of all Bruce Banner, who is holding himself and shaking with a terrified look on his face. People are running everywhere, and the debris is flying like crazy. Ultron gives a menacing look, as he surveys all the destruction. Then there are some hero moments: Captain America enters a place shooting some guns. Stuff is blowing up. Banner staggers to his knees in a snowy forest, looking sickly. Thor uses his hammer to smash a tank. Black Widow is in a medical bay, reaching for some surgical tools. We glimpse Nick Fury looking the way he did at the end of Winter Soldier. And Scarlet Witch is on a bus, approaching some people at the back of the bus with magic in one hand. Tony Stark is looking forlorn and guilty. “It’s the end, the end of a path I started us on,” he tells Black Widow, who says everything ends. Scarlet witch sinks to her knees shouting. And there are more shots of Scarlet Witch using her powers, just quick glimpses of her projecting magical energy.

At this point, the trailer strts playing the clasic song “I’ve Got No Strings.” Tony, in Hulbuster armor, confronts Hulk on a city street, and there are several shots of them brawling and Tony getting the shit beat out of him. Quicksilver runs through a crowded room that seems to be standing still. Captain America is fighting someone in what looks like a knock-down brawl. And because this is Joss Whedon, there’s a glimpse of girls doing ballet. Then we’re back to Black Widow shooting shotguns, and more of the Hulk/Hulkbuster brawl. Thor grabs Tony Stark’s throat and lifts him off the ground. Captain America is riding a motorcycle and then running. Cars are tumbling in mid air. Black Widow touches her hand to the Hulk’s massive green hand, like she’s calming him down. We glimpse a confrontation between Black Widow and Scarlet Witch. And then Ultron finishes the song saying, “There are no strings on me,” clenching a fist as he celebrates that he’s no longer a puppet. And we go a shot of Captain America’s shield — shattered to fragments. We pull back, and all of the Avengers are lying prone, apparently dead, in the rubble. Tony is leaning over them, and he looks totlaly horrified and ashamed.

SDCC 14: DAREDEVIL to Debut in May 2015

Marvel’s upcoming Netflix shows have kind of been sporadic on the radar since their announcement. We know that DAREDEVIL has made a ton of casting decisions, including Charlie Cox as the main man and Vincent D’Onofrio as the Kingpin. Even some images from the filming of the pilot have landed online, teasing us for the full series.

This past weekend at SDCC 14, it was announced that DAREDEVIL will be making its way to Netflix in May of 2015. That happens to be the same month Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD season 2 will end and AVENGERS 2: AGE OF ULTRON will land in theaters. We assume that Daredevil will not tie into the larger Marvel cinematic universe at first, but perhaps when THE DEFENDERS mini series lands, we’ll see something that is integrated tighter into the movies as well.

Mark your calendars, because Justice is a dish best served blind.

SDCC 14: First look at AGE OF ULTRON Props

At SDCC, Marvel was kind enough to bring along 3 props from the film and footage that was screened. These include a real look at the Hulkbuster armor (mostly his hand), Ultron Mark 1″s body, and Captain America”s shield but shattered from an apparent battle.

What makes these interesting, is that they”re the showing the destruction and decimation the Earth”s Mightest heroes will be facing next May when AGE OF ULTRON hits theaters. From the massive battle between Hulk and Iron Man, which will obviously leave a wake Pisces, love horoscope scorpio and Taurus will hardly get on with Aries. of destruction in its path. To the introduction of Ultron from creation to perfection, as is his ultimate goal.

The most interesting is Captain America”s shield being destroyed, since its supposedly indestructible and made of vibranium. This isn”t uncommon in the comics to do such a thing, but why it happens in AVENGERS 2 is going to be riveting.

SDCC 14: Leaked BATMAN V SUPERMAN Teaser

The teaser for BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE premiered at SDCC this weekend. I don’t think it contains actual footage of the movie, but more of a clip to get people psyched. It succeeded.

The clip shows what appears to be an armored Batman (I think thats called Iron Man?) hooking up his bat-signal. When it comes on, Superman appears in the middle of it, with red glowing eyes. The two are definitely going to brawl and they’re taking it right out of the pages of The Dark Knight Returns.

I’ve embedded a low-res version of the teaser below for your enjoyment. I can’t wait to see this fight go down.

 

 

Is this THE VISION from AVENGERS 2?

Just hours after the cast of AVENGERS 2: AGE OF ULTRON hit the Marvel panel at SDCC 14, an image made its way online supposedly showing behind the scenes of the movie. This image, if real, supposedly shows us what The Vision (Played by Paul Bettany) will look like in his final form.

We can’t speak to the veracity of this image, but it appears to be a picture of a printed picture. Perhaps an early magazine copy has this look and someone got a sneak peek at it. Either way, it appears to be Paul Bettany in the green and red getup that the Vision is known for.

SDCC 14: AGENTS OF SHIELD gets Mockingbird and more

We’re less than 2 months away from Marvel’s AGENTS OF SHIELD returning to TV! After a slow start to the first season that ended in quite a bang, I can say that I’m excited for it to be back on. At San Diego Comic Con this week, a video for season 2 of the series gave us hints of what villains and possible heroes we’ll be seeing through the show.

Most notably, was the name drop of Bobbi Morse, aka Mockingbird. She’s known for working with Hawkeye a lot and is a very skilled agent without any actual powers. She graduated from SHIELD academy at the top of her class, so we’ll be seeing how the effects of THE WINTER SOLDIER have affected her life.

Along with this announcement, we have Lucy Lawless joining the cast and playing Isabel Hartly (unknown), Nick Blood will play Lance Hunter (unknown), and Reed Diamond will be playing the “big bad” of Season 2, Daniel Whitehall, aka Kraken in the comics. He is one of the founders of Hydra in the books, but will probably be adapted to something else for the TV series.
