Do you remember in Season 1 of Marvel’s AGENTS OF SHIELD when Jaimie Alexander reprised her role as Sif from Asgard? That two part episode was pretty cool and set the scene for Evil Ward to come forward later. Now, Sif will be coming back to Midgard in Season 2 but in a different manner.
She’ll arrive on Earth with short-term memory loss. While Sif will know that she’s an Asgardian, she’ll have no clue who Thor, Odin, or any other Marvel Universe mainstays are. Will she see the Agents as friends or foes? My guess is friends, as they’ll have Inhumans to deal with on the other hand.
“It’ll give us some much-needed humor in a season that’s been full of betrayal and death,” Executive Producer Jeffrey Bell told TV Insider. “Sif can’t even recall who she came here from Asgard to stop, but Agent Coulson [Clark Gregg] and his team will try to help her figure all that out.”
Fortunately, the memories that Sif retains will help the agents deal with the extra-ordinary dealings keeping that other hand busy—namely, the Inhumans. They are alien creations after all.
“We’ve been dealing a lot with space aliens and Inhumans in our last few episodes—things our Earth-bound heroes just don’t know much about,” Bell further told the news site. “They need help understanding what’s really going on. Sif’s memory—what’s left of it—will come in very handy.”
We’re not sure when she appears, but we’ll let you know when to catch Sif’s appearance in SHIELD!
