Rumor: Hulk 2: Incredibly Indestructible

Rumors, strictly rumors are all we have regarding a Hulk movie. Last year, after watching Avengers early, I was informed that we could be looking at a Planet Hulk or World War Hulk film in the future. Albeit a lofty goal, fans clamored over this news as it become more wide spread and near epidemic. However, as of today, we have a new rumor regarding the future role of Hulk and his alter ego, Bruce Banner in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Stories are that the next film could be based on Mark Waid’s Indestructible Hulk comic series that started with Marvel NOW. This is really awesome due to the increased popularity over here at ComicUI with Waid, his movement into digital comics (Thrillbent) and how they’ve taken a character that was pure smash and turned him into something absolutely fantastic.

For those unfamiliar with Indestructible Hulk, Bruce Banner has turned himself over to SHIELD for use as a point and aim weapon. They can use the Hulk as a WMD and in turn, he can use their resources to create solutions for world problems. As a brilliant man (something we rarely get to see in the films), Bruce Banner has quickly crafted some great inventions that could be used by SHIELD and the Marvel cinematic world, really helping it grow. Also, it focuses on a confident Banner, something we never get to see. He’s not running from his condition, but embracing it as he goes. Its a great read, if you get a chance to pick up an issue or two, do so.

If they take this storyline and implement it into a movie, it would do a huge favor to the Hulk and Banner as film characters, probably turning him into the next Tony Stark of the silver screen, due to his confidence and intelligence. If not, oh well. What do you think would make the best Hulk story for the movies?
